Where are all the war protests?

We are in a financial mess and for some unknown reason we are fighting 3 wars, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Actually in the newspeak  lexicon of the Obama administration, the Libyan War is not really a war but a Military Kinetic Action . What puzzles me is the lack of protests to these wars. We have casualties, it's enormously expensive and all three of these Kinetic Actions (a redundant phrase since kinetic implies action) are quagmires with no defined rules of engagement and no exit strategy.  I had no problem criticizing GW for his miserable job performance but at least I had the solace that I didn't cast a vote for him, sadly that is not the case for Obama. Let's get out NOW. As a matter of fact let's draw the military out of all the overseas locations, we have enough work to do at home. For example defending our our border from the drug warlords  (or is that medicinal kinetic entrepreneurs?). " When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scor...

What were they thinking? - Push up bras for little girls?

You gotta hand it the Abercrombie and Fitch, they've done it again. I'm trying to imagine the clothing designers sitting around the table and creating this product line. I guess I should be encouraged that so many others find this inappropriate. The website now refers the these bras  as " lightly lined ", instead of push-up which shows that Abercrombie may have a slight clue that maybe just maybe this was a bad idea.

Where is the IMMINENT threat to the United States posed by Libya?

Charlie Savage, Boston Globe Dec 20th 2007: In what circumstances, if any, would the president have constitutional authority to bomb Iran without seeking a use-of-force authorization from Congress? (Specifically, what about the strategic bombing of suspected nuclear sites -- a situation that does not involve stopping an IMMINENT threat?) The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. As Commander-in-Chief, the President does have a duty to protect and defend the United States. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent. History has shown us time and again, however, that military action is most successful when it is authorized and supported by the Legislative branch. It is always preferable to have the informed consent of Cong...

Doomsday Watch: Magnetic pole shift may drive humans and animals mad

"Demented armies of zombie-like animals—rats, squirrels, raccoons, even beloved pets—could turn on humans in frenzied, bloody assaults." writes Terrence Aym in a Salem-News article about the effects of the pole shift upon human and animal life. The recent news of mass animal deaths raises some questions, could this be a contributing factor? Regarding human life, magnetic fields can influence mental states as research into transcranial magnetic stimulation has shown. One theory is that UFO sightings and abduction experiences are nothing more than the brain's reaction to shifting magnetic fields. There is a lot to ponder on this subject.
